RAL codes are a color standardization system created in Germany in 1927 by RAL Deutsches Institut für Gütesicherung und Kennzeichnung. Originally containing 40 colors, the classic RAL system today includes 213 standard colors, each identified by a four-digit number. RAL is widely used across industry, architecture, construction, and design.
RAL codes are accepted as global standards corresponding to specific colors. However, raw materials used during production, added stabilizers, processing techniques, and other variables can cause tone differences between the final product and the color specified by the RAL code.
